Immersion is not a zoo designer’s gimmick. Visitor research in countries as far apart as the US and China have taught us that truly immersive wild animal experiences create memorable emotions. Much more so than the traditional ‘as naturally as possible’- approach. Often a single wrong sightline or a visible strand of hotwire destroy the entire illusion.
